Student Magazine Analysis - FFH

This magazine is from Fearns Community Sports College; with its students ranging from 11 to 16 years. The college have published a magazine since 2005 and it is distributed yearly. The front cover has the seasonal title of summer; this probably means people get it at the end of the school year and it covers all of the events that have taken place over that year.

The title of the magazine is FFH; this stands for further, faster, higher. I think that motivational words that the title stands for implies that the staff at the school are trying to drive the students towards a better education. However by using the initials instead, the words do not look to daunting to the students themselves when they read the magazine. The use of these words show that the magazine is organised more by the teachers at the college as opposed to students as it seems a little more formal than a student created magazine may be.

Photos for Student Magazine

This is the photograph I have decided to use for my student magazine. It is a clear photo and centralised. Using iPhoto, I will lighten the photograph and then in Adobe Photoshop CS3, I will cut the photo to size.

I could not use this photograph for the student magazine because, although the photo is portrait, the main focus of the photograph (the person) s not central in the shot and she would have to be covered by the headlines and stories because of her positioning.

I couldn't use this photograph for my student magazine because the photo is significantly blurred making it look very unprofessional.
